We were delighted to organise Gousto’s annual Summer celebration for the second year and were tasked with finding an interesting outdoor space.

The Skip Garden in Kings Cross was chosen as a highly unique party venue which also shared the client’s values.

An urban farm growing organic food on site and pioneering educational charity, Global Generation’s core value is “I, We and the planet” – they work with local children and young people, businesses, residents and families to create healthy, integrated and environmentally responsible communities, which is also something at the heart of Gousto’s mission.

The team arrived to the garden on a gorgeously sunny Friday in June to the smell of wood oven pizzas baking and fresh flowers adorning the space and there was much to discover as they explored the surroundings – a line of re-purposed skips flanked one side each growing different plants, flowers and herbs, a Wormery, Bug Hotel and rooftop beehives attracted local wildlife, a stunning greenhouse made entirely of salvaged materials housing a bar and a resident garden gnome inviting guests to get stuck in and pot their own basil or mint to take home with them.

Guests sipped botanical cocktails on a sunny terrace looking out over Granary Square as an abundance of plant-based, homegrown offerings were circulated throughout the evening including a hummus bar and large platters of fresh salads presented amongst the growing beds, and the festivities continued under the twinkling festoon lights as guests danced the night away to a playlist of Summer tunes by in-house DJ Tar Tar Sauce!

“Thank you for all of your work on making this happen! We’ve really enjoyed working with you.”
