To mark the opening of their first UK store in Mayfair this month, New York fashion brand Thom Browne asked INSYNC to be their UK production partner to coordinate the venues, catering, props, groomer and transport as well as contribute to the influencers for their photo shoot.

The brand has a successful history of hosting a fun and relaxed annual soccer game in New York and to emulate this across the pond, they chose the quintessentially British game of tennis as the theme for the day and designed a new collection of suitably fitting ladies and menswear for guests to model.

 

The look and feel across all elements emulated the 1920’s – 50’s eras whilst retaining clean lines and a muted colour palette of white and grey with accents of navy and red, and the visually striking Golden Lanes tennis courts at the Barbican were chosen as the backdrop to showcase one of the best examples of British brutalist architecture and give an authentic London flavour.

 

We sourced a retro umpire chair and school benches for the spectators to use on court, and vintage picnic baskets were layed out on custom Thom Browne white rugs to display a traditional afternoon tea sandwiches and cakes, styled in sharp symmetrical lines to complement the aesthetic of the architecture.

 

Guests played a two hour game of tennis using custom white racquets and balls, while being captured by a team of leading fashion and documentary photographers for the brand’s blog and socials as well as a cutting edge editorial piece.

 

After the game, guests were led through the incredible Barbican Centre for a picnic lunch at the beautiful Lakeside terrace before heading to the new store for some well deserved Champagne and gifts.
